Product Description Boys don t keep diaries or do they?
The launch of an exciting and innovatively illustrated new series narrated by an unforgettable kid every family can relate to
It s a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.
In book one of this debut series, Greg is happy to have Rowley, his sidekick, along for the ride. But when Rowley s star starts to rise, Greg tries to use his best friend s newfound popularity to his own advantage, kicking off a chain of events that will test their friendship in hilarious fashion.
Author/illustrator Jeff Kinney recalls the growing pains of school life and introduces a new kind of hero who epitomizes the challenges of being a kid. As Greg says in his diary, Just don t expect me to be all Dear Diary this and Dear Diary that. Luckily for us, what Greg Heffley says he won t do and what he actually does are two very different things.
Since its launch in May 2004 on Funbrain.com, the Web version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid has been viewed by 20 million unique online readers. This year, it is averaging 70,000 readers a day.

Greatest Book Ever January 5, 2009 The author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid is Jeff Kinney. I'm only giving away one part of the story: Rowley eats the cheese. The main characters are Greg Heffley, Rowley, Dad, Mom, Rodrick, Manny and Fregley. The story is about a boy trying to survive middle school. I recommend this book for 8-14 year olds who likes funny books. Have fun reading the book. By Elijah
Nonstop LAUGH out loud! January 3, 2009 Joel Katte (Home of the Milwaukee Brewers) Readers of all ages will find themselves laughing out loud as WIMPY KID paints a clear picture of some of the awkward moments kids endure in today's schools and families. This is a great book for teaching students to be honest with their writing. A strong voice carries the reader through with a swift, fun pace. The book also features dozens of hysterical sketches. Be sure to check out the other three books in the series. This book would make an exceptional gift for a teenage boy.
Zoo wee mama! January 1, 2009 Paper Pen (Long Beach, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's no secret that kids love "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." Now here I am, a 48-year-old father, to tell you that adults can love it, too. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is funny in smart, clever and imaginative ways. Author Greg Kinney does a great job of capturing the quirky perspective of a middle schooler. The main character, Greg, is likable, the illustrations fit the story perfectly, and the book takes unpredictable turns that will make you laugh out loud. Good for ages 7 and up.
Best book ever! December 29, 2008 Tammie (Auburn, AL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book starts out funny and ends funny. I read the book at work one night while waiting on my 12 hours to pass by. My co-workers thought I was crazy for laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. This kid had me thinking back to my years of middle school and the way I thought of things in life. I went home that morining and ordered the rest of the series.
