Tools for comic readers

Small tools that answer real questions: what should I read next, is this series complete, and what do I need to store my comics?

A pencil lying on a sketched drawing

We only build a tool where it does a better job than a paragraph of text. There are four, and each runs in your browser without an account. We keep the list short on purpose, so that each tool earns its place by answering a question readers really ask.

The Comic Finder is live now. Choose an age, a style and a genre, or type a title you liked, and it shows matching books from our hand-picked catalog. If the book you want is not listed, the page always offers an Amazon search for exactly what you typed.

The other three tools live on the guides where they are used. A series checklist will sit on our reading-order pages and let you tick off the volumes you own. A value checker will go on the price guide to help you decide whether a comic is worth a closer look. A supplies calculator will go on the storage guide to estimate bags, boards and boxes. We are adding these now.

Tip

The tools run in your browser. Your ticks and searches are not sent to us.

Questions people ask

Do the tools cost anything or need an account?

No. They are free and run in your browser, with no sign-up. Anything you tick off in a checklist is saved only in your own browser on your own device, and it is not sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Do you show prices or ratings?

No. We do not show prices, star ratings or review quotes, because they change and we cannot verify them ourselves. Our buttons open the book or a search on Amazon, where the current price, availability and customer reviews are shown by Amazon.

Are the Amazon links affiliate links?

Yes. They carry our Amazon Associates tracking ID, and we may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. They are marked as sponsored links in the page code, and we explain how this works on our affiliate disclosure page.

How is the catalog chosen?

It is a hand-picked list that we write and check ourselves. Every book has a real ISBN that resolves in the Open Library database. It is not every comic ever published, which is why the Finder always offers an Amazon search for anything it lacks.
